Antonin Dvorak's grave. I was quite moved when I found Dvorak's gravesite. I am still at heart a musician of the great European classical tradition. I know, feel, and understanding this tradition backward and forward. Lately I've been listening to as much music as I can get a hold of by contemporary Eastern European composers like Kancheli, Alfred Schnittke, Henryk Gorecki, K. Penderecki, Sofia Gubaidulina, Peteris Vasks, Arvo Part. OK, the Czech Repulic is Central Europe, but it is still Slavic. I want to think about and write more about this later.
